February 14, 2019 6:00 PM

Could you help your child in an emergency? Skiff Medical Center presents the American Heart Association’s Infant and Child CPR and First Aid course to provide you the training in CPR and other life-saving skills that you would need if you were to encounter a little one in distress.

CPR topics include:

  • Helping an infant or child who is choking
  • Recognizing when to call 911
  • What to do while waiting for help

First aid topics include:

  • Stomach distress
  • Cuts
  • Bruises
  • Head bumps
  • When to visit the ER
  • When to keep your child home from daycare or school

Although you are encouraged to take these classes before your baby arrives, you may choose to take them after your baby’s birth.

Please note: This class does not meet the CPR or first aid certification requirements for daycare providers.

Classes for new and expectant parents are free of charge. All classes are held in the Skiff Medical Center Inservice Room beginning at 6 p.m. on the dates listed, unless otherwise noted.
