Whether your procedure is performed on an outpatient basis or if you need to spend the night in the hospital, your safety and comfort are our primary concerns.
The Skiff Surgery department is staffed by registered nurses (RNs), surgical technologists and licensed practical nurses (LPNs), some with more than 20 years of surgical experience. The post-anesthesia care unit has five patient care areas for patient recovery, and is staffed by specialized registered nurses. Our anesthesia service is staffed by three CRNAs (certified registered nurse anesthetists), each of whom attended four-year RN programs, followed by three-year anesthesiology programs. Skiff is proud to have an incredibly low anesthesia-related nausea rate of only 5 percent, compared to a national average of 25-30 percent.
The department of surgery includes three operating rooms (ORs), an endoscopy suite, 14 outpatient beds and five recovery room bays.

Skiff Medical Center voluntarily undergoes regular surveys by the Health Facilities Accreditation Program (HFAP). This accreditation requires that we pass strict guidelines for equipment, staff, hospital access and anesthesia administration.
